Anyone got any experience of parapodiums for paraplegic walking.

Do you ever functionally walk after using one.

I work in a hospital and one of our anaesthetists was telling me about a chap in Glasgow who has started using one and I just wondered. My cousin is a para the break is in the high T's and I wondered if it would be of use to him. He is so skeptical he will only do it if it works.

Thanks. Any replies would be appreciated.

Well I was up in the Southern General visiting my fiance and they had one of these and one of the girls was trying it out and said it was amazing.

Anything is worth a try I think xxx

I know someone who's T4 who uses one and maintains that's it great. It's certainly good exercise and it's got to be better than a standing frame even if it does look a bit like wallace in 'the wrong trousers'

However your message seems to be asking whether the parapodium is designed to be a stepping stone on the way to normal walking and whether anyone has walked normally after using one. I'd have to say the answer on that one would be no.
