I'm still trying to get my sitting position squared away. Are the backs of your knees supposed to touch the front of the cushion? I think they've given me too long a seat because the backs of my knees touch the front of the cushion and that keeps me from sitting up a little straighter and it makes it difficult to get my feet far enough back on the footplate. Does this sound reasonable or am I just wacky?

If your ass is all the way back, touching the bottom of the back, the cushion should just touch your calf with your feet correctly positioned on the foot plate.
Some backs,,, in fact, most backs, have a "tail" that lays up on the seat,, and is velcroed to it. It is there to prevent the cushion from being forced back too far. If this "tail" is postioned too far forward, it will push the cushion forward.
I'm assuming you have a rigid chair,,, otherwise you could simply position the cushion farther back.
I hope I helped somewhat,,,

Yeah, Ed that does help. I'll have to check that tail and see if I have it in the right place. I have monkeyed with it some since I got this chair, a rigid, so I might have changed the placement of it.
