i used to take a comode with me . what a pain in the arse it was . i learnt to use a standard toilet & transfer to a chair in the shower . most motels will have a plastic chair or similar to use . worst case take a garbage bag & cover your wheelchair & shower in it.
cheers andrew

Hi thanks for the replies,Andrew it is a pain taking the shower chair with you on holiday we did it last year and it just took up the hole of the boot space with the seats folded down too,Wheelsonfire that chair is very similar to my chair i use every day do you have any pictures with the folding version that you bought and could I ask if the price was alot higher to have it made that way? I was thinking of something abit more portable and cheaper even something with no wheels that can be folded down, there are folding commodes but the arm rests dont move to transfer from the sides,I have used a toilet with raised seat on with not many problems but cant use a standard toilet my hand gets stuck LOL.

Cheers

Hello - this is a common thread and one I solved for my own needs (obviously we are all different). I have a number of travel shower chairs and travel bath seats on order and they are due to arrive in the next month.

These are pictures of the travel shower chair folded and unfolded:

(Bath Chair photos in 2nd post)

There is something similar on the market which I have posted about previously. However I have added quick release flip arms to these to make transfers easier for paralysed users, and a travel bag, because they're not expensive to add in, yet all other suppliers don't include or charge a fortune.

Mine will be cheaper than I see them elsewhere, as I am cutting out the middlemen's margins.

If I take mine in the car I use the bag, if I go on holiday (flights) then I fold clothes around the chair in the bag.

They're not listed yet, as they're not here, but if anyone wants to email questions: info@disabledgear.com

Bath Seats, breaks down into 4 parts, No screws or essential fixing bits to lose!

Both items have a padded, u-shaped seat for easier intimate hygiene as you can see. And the sides are angled for security on the sides of the bath. Again, these have quick release flip arms for ease of transfer.

Si

I'll take a few pictures and have them uploaded either this evening or in the morning, I use the 19 wide, it cost a few quid more but not much,

With myself, the travel commodes were no good, couldn't transfer to the fixed toilet or jump to a seat in the shower area, my spasms are too bad, so with a bit of thought, the one I got sorted was the best option for me.
