Has he tried lyrica or Gabapentin?
We live in a world so scared of upsetting others feelings that the idiots are allowed to rule. Goodbye intelligence.

I was on lyrica at first, but then went to baclofen. Felt like it worked better. Less addicting as well. And makes you less groggy, depending on the dose. I feel those pains everynight of my life before bed and when i wake up. It's the worst feeling ever, sometimes makes me wish i couldn't feel at all. It hurts, no doubt about it. But i feel it more because i stopped taking the baclofen. No reason other than just didn't wanna take anymore medicine.

why not a total nerve block of those nerve roots?
I asked for this on my S1 nerve root, but because I still get some function from the nerve in addition to the pain, the doc wouldn't do it. but, for someone whose spinal lesion is higher up and prevents function below, why not block the nerve root at the source of the burning pain?

I got root nerve pain six weeks after my accident, that was in 1976 and I've had it since, bloody nightmare. Tried TENS,
spine injection morphine tablets, nothing seems to work. It's in my big toes goes up behind the legs into the buttocks, around my leasion t2, can't bear to wear anything whilst indoors. When I go out, its a case of grin and bear it. Over the last 10 yrs it's become a little more tolerable but you still have to cope with it. I go to Pinderfields once a year and thats 50 miles from Malton so I am very much isolated. Now that I have a computer maybe I too can get some advice. One last point if its a phenol injection don't do it. Sorry can't be more positive, just Know you are not alone.
best wishes Dave
