I've been having problems controlling my spasms since I left my rehab back in August. I do weight shifts literally every few minutes, take pain medication, check my skin, stretch as often as I think about it and still nothing seems to help. My spasms seem to try to straighten rather than to just jump everywhere and everything below my level of injury is just hyperactive. If I brush the bottom of my foot or on my thigh even just with a cover they tense up real bad and I was just wondering what other options is there to help with this?

If you're not averse to ingesting those little white wonders of modern western science, in other words more pills, then Baclofen works for me and a whole lot of other people around these here parts.
But hey, I aint no doctor, so you should talk to one first.

Or cut your legs off, you choose.

I might just have to consider the cut off, ha. I've been on Baclofen for two or three weeks and it isn't making much of a difference.

I'm in the same boat as you, spasms in the stomach are unbelievable, when the legs stretch out or they kick out the only thing to do is bend(or get someone to do it) the toes.

Baclofen, I take 60mg at a time, 3 times a day and that gives me a bit of a break, be careful though as baclofen is hard on the liver over continuous use.

Believe it or not, the one thing that kills my spasm completely is ejaculation :ranting:
Now I'm not saying that when your are at the bus stop and a spasm kicks in to "kill your spasm completely".
Spasms can be of benefit, they too can be the most annoying thing to deal with, but remember they keep some bit of tone in the legs and can aid in transfer.
Try to have them controlled rather than getting rid all together.
They can be physiologically beneficial also, or as one bloke said to me in rehab "I would love spasm, just to be able to see my legs move" at the time I felt like grabbing him by the neck and introducing his head to my knee, but now I can see where he was coming from.
Now the other pain is when in the company of a lady, as she gently shows you her feminine side and you reciprocate by showing her your still capable of giving her a roundhouse to the back of her head.

So, control rather than getting rid.

Regards

Seemingly, "support" is very "serious" and you should never have a thought of your own..... My Blog

I get Botox injections every 3 months. Inner thigh and hamstrings. Helps me but costly. 1800$ every 3 months, paid by hubby's work insurance. Just a thought....

Stomach spasms and my bladder spasms nearly kill me everytime I get into bed. Ha, I don't have to worry much about a bus stop I live out in the woods. I can use my spasms to help me get into bed but other than that they're just a pain. Haha, and yes that temptation is there but I plan to stay a virgin til married.

I would say I'd look into this but money is something we've certainly been low on since the accident.
