Hello All,

I thought I would share this link from ABC news the other night. I do clinical support and education with a company that manufactures artificial heart devices, and we recently received a huge approval from the FDA to use the device in non-transplant patients. I thought it was interesting, because maybe it just lends some hope to the fact that there is a capacity for advancing medicine. I've been doing this for 6 years and we've made such huge strides in changing how heart failure is treated. I hope similar things happen for SCI patients some day.

We've also been doing some interesting studying of stem cell injections post-implant with our device to see if the stem cells will actually allow the heart to recover. It's still early, but who knows?? While it's hearts and not spines, progress in medicine in one area is generally good for all medicine.
