Are there any avid international travelers here? I know lots have posted about accessibility in different areas of the world (ie: London). Post injury, have any of you traveled internationally for pleasure and fun? Where? How was the experience? Any reccomendations on tour operators that aid in disabled travelers? This is the #1 desire I miss post injury (yes, even besides sex), the ability to get up and run away to far off land. As soon as I can get my SCI act together (say, go a week or two w/out a bladder accident, transfer easily, get a PAYING job) I want to run off.

I've seen websites that promote tour operators for disabled travelers to places like Africa, Israel, Egypt, spain. Has anyone done an exciting holiday like this? Is there hope?!?!

Is there any other reason to travel internationally other than for fun? . . . :dunno:

Yes, it seems plenty of folks here travel internationally for fun.
Refer to the "Accessible Holidays" section for a number of travel reviews.

Personally, I do not use travel agencies. I prefer to do my own research, make my own plans, and handle my own arrangements. With Internet/eMail it's pretty easy these days.

A ton of us around here frequently travel abroad. The best decision is to do a little research on a place you'd like to go, call around and get an idea of what they and you can do for you. No trip is ever ideal, whether it be a bladder issue or some barrier in your path. Try not to get to bummed if your first big trip isnt exactly as you had wished for and learn to notice what works best for you and gear yourself in that direction. It will pay off.
