Hi Apparelyzed,

I'm a master's student from McMaster University currently in search of research participants. My research focus is on wheelchair skills/mobility, physical activity and psychosocial well-being in people living with Spinal Cord Injury. I thought my study might interest some of the people on this forum. The details of my study follow below and there is a letter of information attached to this message as well.

Thank you for your consideration,

The Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, in collaboration with McMaster University, is currently seeking research participants for a study involving wheelchair mobility in people living with spinal cord injury. This study hopes to enforce the importance of wheelchair skills and how these skills can help to positively influence a person’s level of physical activity and community participation.

What participants will do:
1) Engage in a wheelchair skills test (with trained supervision)
2) Complete some questionnaires regarding well-being and physical activity
3) Have an activity monitor (the size of a wristwatch) attached to the frame of your wheelchair for 7 days. This can be easily removed and will not damage your chair in any way!

Participants will receive monetary reimbursements.
For further information, please do not hesitate to contact our project coordinator:

i think i would make a good participant b/c im in m chair all day. i drive a quickie s-646, which is one of the fastest model chairs. it has been d/c but i intend to keep it. i enjoy driving at high speeds since i canot drive a car yet. i broke my kneck august 05, near drowning. I broke c-5, and am now complete quad. i have a lot of creative ideas for better wheelchairs. not sure what else to tell ya. hit me back.
