It took me about 4 months before I could ejaculate after my injury. I think I worked on recovering that function more than I worked on trying to recover my walking. I had my husband bring my vibrator to the rehab hospital where I stayed for 3 months after I was discharged from the hospital. I had a private room and keep the thing in the top drawer of the night table beside my bed. I tried EVERY night until one night it finally happened!!! Oh joy, oh bliss!!! I also have friends who own 'Lady Calston' a women's sex toy manufacturing company and they brought me a gift basket full of treats and included three or four vibrators
Interestingly, before my SCI, I used to require that my legs were completely straight and flexed with my toes pointed and pretty much needed to be on the bottom in order to ejaculate the first time and then I could have multiple orgasms after that and it didn't matter if my knees were bent or if my toes weren't pointed. Now, however, I can ejaculate in any position: top, bottom, from behind, with my legs straight or bent...AND...my ejaculation is not fast and torpedo-like, it's L O N G and S L O W...tremendously more pleasureable than what is was before my SCI. I think that was about the only benefit of having my SCI. smile.

Never did. Are those months or years, because some people don't even get to that stage at least until a year or two after their injuries.

I do have one minor complication being that because my blood pressure builds up and at the point where the ducts in the vagina open to release my ejaculation and the blood contracting the vaginal muscles is released back into the blood stream EVERYTHING relaxes including bowel and bladder. Hence, in order to prevent accidents from happening, spontaneity is lost having to make sure those body cavities are empty prior to having sexual relations...and then there's no guaranty and sometimes accidents do happen. Which is embarrassing and humiliating and humbling and does not make me feel sexy at all. Fortunately, I am married to the most wonderful man in the entire world and he does everything he can to make me feel like his princess even if I accidentally pee on him...or worse. I am a very lucky lady and love my husband madly!
