I've found a skin care product that has worked wonders for me, I have had a couple stage 1 and 2 pressure sores and the cream has reduced the healing time to about a week. It's called: Climb On! Intensive skin repair. It comes in a small tin, 1oz bar. The company markets it to climbers (I used to climb 5.10, now i'm trying to do some aid climbing) and when I got my first pressure sore I tried it, it's fairly inexpensive and has worked well for all of my skin issues actually. It's all natural (whatever), big thing is it helps me out alot! hope someone else can get some relief out of it so I decided to share! They say that it even works well mashed up and stuffed in a fairly deep cut (gouged skin is a common climbing injury).
g-luck!

I have a pressure sore that just won't finish healing. It started as a Stage 4, but now it's less than a cm. deep, and less than .5 cm x .5 cm. I've been in bed most of the time for 3 yrs. and I'm SO sick of it!!! We have been packing the thing with silver alginate and covering it with Allevyn foam. It's just staying the same. I'm tempted to use that stuff you're talking about out of desperation. I'm thinking about it.

Check out "Dermawound Original" Just google it. The astounding combo of stuff is like a thick mud but its blood flow stimulating stuff healed a small stage 4 pressure sore, 1 cm by 1.5 cm, on my trochanter (sp?) in two weeks. No kidding. I hate keeping my butt in the air so Dermawound was a miracle for my and my left hiney bun.

Dermawound and staying "butt up" has helped my pressure sore close by 1/8th inch and stimulated new granulation over the muscle in just two nights. I wish I owned stock. This spackle stuff is great for tunneling wounds.
