WheelChairGear.com started in 2002 when I lost my favorite sunglasses while on a road trip in York, PA. They fell out while loading my wheelchair into the car. Talking of wheelchair accessories, there is a company called Trabasack which makes lapbags for wheelchair users as well.

I ordered some of these products(from the first company 'Wheelchair Gear') and am deligted with them, at last I can wheel round with my mug of coffee ....and the bags that attach to the wheelchair are great..now I'm not dropping my mobile, bleep etc etc

Hi,

I've ordered from both companies in the past, and both are very good.

I ordered a pouch from wheelchair Gear, for when we only need a wallet and a mobile phone.

I have a Trabasack for when I want to take a magazine, iTouch and other bit's, as it great for when you're on the beach etc. as it doubles up as a laptray for your magazines, plates etc.

for use as a wheelchair backpack, i bought a well-used us army gas mask bag with shoulder straps on e-bay. works very well as does a WWII era british one (like the one indiana jones carried in the movies). looks cool as well...

I found a really inexpensive bag at Walmart.com - its actually made for strollers, but works perfectly for the chair - the loops just slip over the handles on back - perfect fit, size, washable - and it was on clearance for around $15!
