Hello, and welcome. Each one of us has different feelings and abilities. As time goes by you may/probably will continue to regain some of your abilities. So really anything you feel is "normal," but if it is painful and difficult to live with talk to your doctors to see what can be done.
Since it hasn't been a whole year you very well may expect some improvement. Are you having any kind of physical therapy? It can help physically and it can also help to have the therapists rooting for you.
This is a very good board with a nice bunch of people.

You say you have sensation in both feet, & can feel your hamstrings. Isn't that a great thing? & isn't it a great thing that you can feel your legs burning and hurting? Muscles work harder during a spasm, than any 30min passive range of movements could achieve. Keeping your muscles oxygenated, makes you feel yourself more. As you are half way there, it seems a shame that you want to do away with a free & independent workout. As the saying goes, "If ya don't use it, you'll lose it"
Sorry if that sounds blunt, but I say, let your body shake'n rattle as much as it wants, especially as you are a reasonably new quad. I'm sensory incomplete & thank my lucky stars for every sensation I have. Focus on what sensations your brain is registering as pain & visualize them as "normal" not painful.
Good luck.

My Boyfriend is a C6/7 and blind followinng a motorcycle accident and he says he was in more pain after injury than he is now...although he describes the sensation as a "pins and needles" feeling that is constant where he has "no sensation". Just make sure you are communicating with your doctors...talk about pain management. All our prayers...
