Yeah BIG difference between nerve pain vs. other pain.

I've found that it doesn't work very well for any type of pain anymore. I think my body has gotten used to it.

i have and it helped, percocet worked well too after both of my surgeries. And i just started taking Lyrica and it's helping some pretty nasty hypersensitivity on my stomach and lower chest, im actually able to wear a shirt again without getting aggrevated.

Vicodin does work for me, but it's a bit of an upper too, so I tend to talk more and it gives me a euphoric feeling. If you stray from the perscription and take more than the allowed dosage, it is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE, and your body will build up a tollerance to it.

Doctor recently switched me to Vicoden since the Percocet I was taking was bit strong and had unwanted side effects (Besides it only seemed to kill pain for an hour or two tops)and it apears I need to take something for pain daily (Back and neck pain from hell). Am interested if folks think Vicoden is a good alternative to Percs for daily use.I know both are addictive but what's a feller to do? ...Doc also put me back on Bacflon after I had put much effort into getting off the stuff...

I started on vicodin like drugs 10 years ago and ended up addicted and in pain. I finally kicked my habit and now consider opiates a poison. Only use opiates if you have to. You brain will kill pain on its own if it is not soaked in opiates. However, everyone has to discover this by trail and error.

Wow, I am on Oxycontin and Ocycodone along with Baclofen and Valium. I am also wanting to get off of pain medication but it seems like a vicious cycle with me if the pain increases the spasms increase which increase the pain even more! Ugh

I've gotten where I only take opiates if I'm in true agoney...It's lovely to pop a pill and everythings all better. I dig that instant gratifacation thing but there is a ton of unwanted baggage that comes with overuse of narcotic pain pills...To each there own but I find myself turning more and more to alternative methods for chronic pain relief...

I need to speak with my Dr about it because I dont ask for it,it is what I was discharged with. I was cutting back on my own when I fell backwards on a ramp about a month ago and the pain became worse again. Maybe I should ask to be put on something not as strong or addictive as a long term pain management and use the Oxy as break through. Good advise and thank you for your input.

Personally Vicodin didn't do much except mellow me out a little. Besides being addictive they have a reputation for causing constipation. I was told to drink a lot of water while taking. I take Tramadol now and it's Ok
