My fiancee is a t3/t4 paraplegic and we were just wondering what types of activities he will be able to do to get his cardio in? He's already doing weight training and has used the hand cycle a few times but what other options are there? He's afraid of getting fat and has gained back a bit of the weight he lost after his injury (although the weight he lost was muscle and what he's gaining now is mostly fat

There are all types of sports/activities he can do. What is he interested in? Cycling of course is a great way for cardo. There is a organization here in Dallas that puts together all sorts of things. There is Wheelchair basketball, tennis, sled hockey, swimming, cycling, kayaking...etc. Pretty much what ever activities he liked before he can probably still do in some form.

I just found canoeing on Wii. Gets my heart going. And you don't have to leave your house to do it.

Went Kayaking for the first time yesterday, one hell of a work out. My shoulders are killing me today, you can paddle hard for a little bit and then rest or keep going as hard for as long as you want. I found the hardest work out of the evening though was having to get back into the kayak after flipping it.
