To Whom It May Concern,

We are a group of international students gathered at the University Engineering of Copenhagen (www.ihk.dk)
for the Erasmus grant and our project is to design an accessory of wheelchairs for people with disability
problems can practice sports.

Currently, there are several designs, but as you know, are very specific to play each sports and also expensive.

We carry out a search of information about associations of disabled people of all world that can provide us of
experience and problems that the members can discover in the daily use of wheelchair and also in the
specific practice of one sport.

At the beginning, we start with the parameters of a standard wheelchair and from this design try to design an
standard accessory easy to assembly which serves to practice the more sports or activities best

As our university is in a Nordic country, in this area a high percentage of disabled people used stick to help
themselves in the movement of the wheelchair. At first, we must consider this accessory our designs, but
can do without it if necessary.

Our project has focused on helping people with paraplegia, although it could be extended to persons with
any other disability and who need to use a wheelchair.


The information we want to know is:


GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION
- Year of establishment
- Location
- Number of people in the association who use wheelchairs (distinguishing, if possible, gender)
- Age of disable people (including age range)


DATA TYPE OF ITS PATIENTS ASSOCIATION
-Number of people with paraplegia
-Movements more appropriated in the wheelchair use (How is this move? Help from the wheels or use sticks? Is this
movement harmful for health? All information that we can bring about this question is very important.


OUR PROJECT SPECIFIC DATA
- Type of wheelchair most widely used among patients of paraplegia (if there is a specific model,
please say in order to focus in our design). Data from this wheelchair (manufacturer, to search for plans and details).
- Ergonomic problems that users can bring to us about this model of wheelchair (any possible improvements).
- In general, what is the most popular sport in the handicapped people and their association?
- Do you know if any of the users with disabilities use wheelchair in the practice of sports? What problems have they
with accessories from the wheelchair?
- Is there a wheelchair user to be helped to stick? What is the most practiced sport among this group?
