Well i've been lurking on the site for almost a month now every now and then. I finally decided to join after seeing what wonderful people are on here. I dont know anyone else in real life (haha) that's in a wheelchair that i can relate to.. Except for of course when i was a inpatient at the SCI unit but those came and gone.

I still have a lot of reading to do on here but i wanted to stop and introduce myself regardless. I looked for a "Newbie Introduction" topic but couldn't find one.

Regardless nice to meet u all, i live on the computer now since my injury so i'll probably be logged on 24/7 lol.

Welcome! My fiance is a C6/7 quad, and legally blind, so I often come here for info and advice....there are couple chaps who have a wicked sense of humor....they took me awhile to get used to.

My advice to you is to get social, not just on the computer....contact an area center for Independent Living, and find groups that have activities you can join in on. I have learned to "scout" locations we are going to for access and try to get to know the staff at the clubs and restaurants we go to, so that I have help when I get there if I need it. We haven't been out in awhile since he is on bedrest, but we have friends over for cards and dinners....watch movies ( he has some vision in one eye).

Take care and visit often!
