Good stuff. I drove my UTV for a few years with canes, the best i found was using one of those orthopedic canes that have the handle and brace for your arm... the rubber piece on the pedal end is quite helpful as well. After a few years though it wore the metal down on my pedals to the point where the sucker would slip off very easily. It's annoying when it slips off of the gas and hair raising when it slips off the brake. Eventually I put on some hand controls.

If you ever decide to upgrade I would bet that the colours portable controls would be a cheap and easy fit for the rzr. But if you wanna get loco (which it looks like you do quite well) you may wish to get a fixed control like the wells engberg motorcycle style throttle... the major advantage being that it gives you something solid to hold onto when you're bouncing around givin er hell.

Happy trails :H2kOther (26):

Seems like you have 2 speeds, hammered down or stopped!! haha Are you using your right hand to control the controls? We mounted a push/pull down type controls in my Teryx. There really sturdy to hold onto. I use my left hand to control, and my right to drive. Mostly since I'm right handed and its the stronger arm anyways. Well that and thats the way the controls were setup to be mounted when I got them.

I use a stick to drive I just didn't see spending alot of money for controls . I drive on pretty rough stuff but that is what I like. The video is good but it is alot steeper than it looks. And yes I got hurt driving a four wheeler at night we were going up a steep hill . My lights were not that good I got off the trail alittle went up a 15ft did not make it up to the top . I thought I would be able to kick it away from me but it happened so fast. I landed on some rocks and the four wheeler landed on me and bounced off. lol the four wheeler didn't get a scratch but I tried riding the fourwheeler but the polaris is alot better for me. It can go anywhere a fourwheeler goes

Here is how my teryx is setup. I got the controls from a neighbor who got a old 77 Chrysler New Yorker with controls, so he took em out and gave them to me.

Please don't drive with canes
You'll only kill another fire officer (preveous post)
With a little bit of effort, metal rods, 2 or 4 swivil joints and a couple of palm handles
Solves the expensive option

You don't have any issues steering with only hand? I would love one of these, just need to know if I would have to get a power steering aftermarket upgrade or not. Also, do you have anything to hold your legs in place?

i don't have any problem driving with one hand . and i drive in pretty rough spots. as for my legs they get tie together with bungy cords . there was nothing done for the power steering either hope this helps u decide to get one cause it is fun and u get to see the wilderness where u could not go otherwise
