If you read from the beginning this is a girl not a guy!!! She's asking for advice, reasurrance....not a lecture. PM me if you have questions
Hello
In the initial post there is nothing defining the sex of the author.
Male/female/morphodite, makes no odds.............
Regards
Seemingly, "support" is very "serious" and you should never have a thought of your own..... My Blog

i became independent as soon as i moved away from my family... the seamed to be over protective and very limited on what they thought i was capable of doing... so my thoughts to you would be to get away from people that want to do everything for you. i live alone in a small town im able to do everything by my self. i ask for nothing and i dont need help with any daily activities. and you will never learn how do do these being around people that wont let you try.. i hope this helps and i dont mean to sound like an ass hole. or sound like im the best at how to be independent. every day is a learnign expirence and one moto that i tell my self every day comes from my millitary days.. " over come and adapt" good luck becoming independent. the juce is worth the squeeze
"Have you ever heard a woman say, I'm not religious but I am spiritual" "I like to reply, I'm not honest but you're interesting

I agree fully. I only became fully independent when I bought my own home and started doing thinghs for myself. Well meaning family members can be the biggest treat to your independence. I admit that I do need help sometimes but so do able bods. I ask for help when I need it, although I will always first try to find a way to sort things out on my own. To me independence means that I am free to choose when I need help. Whenever anyone tries to jump in and do things for me I come down hard on them. The rule is if I don't ask for it I don't want it. It's my life and nobody should be allowed decide things on my behalf.

So true, hell my dad still wants to get up and get me a drink or something to eat every 5 minutes when I visit them and he's on a bum knee that makes him slower at it then I am.
