After some drunk a@@hole takes my life, I am now stuck reflecting and remembering what my life was once like. I constantly see sports equipment & tools around my house that I once used. I drive down the street and see people doing activities that I can only dream to do again. I see ponds which i used to fish, trails I used to ride, woods I used to hike, golf courses I used to play, etc....I know there is modified & adaptive ways to do things but its not the same. My friends invite me to watch them play but it sucks watching them play sports you used to participate in and were good at.
Just venting!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no one knows what its like and I am tired of hearing look how far you have come and it could be worse.

yo hockeyguy,

i know taking away a jock's legs is super tough. you have to go on and use your brain over your brawn. please look at the extreme sports section in particular the hardcore sitting. this is a whole new world and you can suck it up and move on and be happy or you can be misrable it's your choice.

It sucks big time
Can't do anything I use to
:) this sucks

Does it ever really change
Go away
Not really
I'm :censored: paralyzed

Will I ever find anything enjoyable ever again
:censored: I hope so cause this is bull shit

How could anyone ever love me now
I'm not perfect anymore
:censored: they won't if I wallow in self-pity

I :censored: hate this life...
I :censored: hate this life...
I :censored: hate this life...

I feel better now
Think I'll get busy living
:censored: this is going to be hard

Ya know, by some miracle I didn't die
My body is broken, but I still have my mind
Maybe I can do it better this time around
I still have my dreams, desires, ambitions

Can I make the best of this :censored: up situation
:censored: right I can...

Choice

PS. hockeyguy, my sister sent me this link, not sure I have the balance to do this, but it sure looks sweet...hope you enjoy!

Wheel Chair rugby was already mentioned, and I have to second that. Have you seen the movie, "Murder Ball." Look into it. It's an awsome fast paced sport that'll get the blood pumping again, and it will give you that extra support from others who "get it."

btw, venting is MANDATORY if you want to move forward. If you've earned anything out of this, it's the right to b*tch a little now and then.

No one can truly understand what it really feel like as each person deal differently and person who has not had similar experience haven,t got a clue what it is like. We have all been through this stage, and some fared better than others. It is a big adjustment to make, try focus on what you can do and how to do it better. Though it is not the same adapted sports and activities are really helpful.

I feel down when I am sitting idle and not able to do many of the simple stuff that I used to. So I keep myself busy with what I can do and I have less time thinking what I cannot :muahaha:

It is not the disability but the ability that matters

To be where you have never been before

You have to do what you have never done before
