Hi Guys,

New to this so sorry if it comes out wrong. My fiance is C5-6 and occassionally wears a catheter, she has been diagnosed with a Urine infection, but just lately there has been a sort of hard egg shell coming out with the urine. She has only just started Trimithropin antibiotics so will this problem going to go once the infection goes or does she need to go back to the doctors?

Thanks in advance for any help

seek further advice before the infection leads to a blocked catheter

Does your fiancee suffer from spasms. I did not have a spasm for ten day's. I then got a blocked catheter, which then lead to an urine infection. I now have spasms everyday.

Yep, go to a urologist. It sounds like bladder stones to me.

whenever i get a uti. i see white flecks in my catheter. if you already are on anti-biotics for it they'll go away once the infection is gone. obviously if they get worse or don't go away i'd call the dr but it sound like you're treating it correctly.

hi fellow gimps! i'm a c 6/7 quad and have been injured since 1986. i was in a roll over hydroplane accident and it took hours for the paramedics to get me out of the car in the pouring rain. that definately wasn't my day. but alas life goes on!

Sounds like could be kidney stones....a girl had this in rehab and she would pass them here and then, looked like little pieces of shell.

I aint got a cath but have similar things in my wee. A friend has exactly the same as your describing with your wife and its like an alkaline linning that lines your bladder wall and eventually come away and can block your cath. Its like hard water limescale in your kettle. You do need to get it checked out but my female friend who suffers from it is sure its down to white flour. It happen more to her when she has alot of bread or pastry.
I do it erratically, often with bits fallling off.
