Wildkat -- the exact same thing happened to me!! We were at a restaurant here in Dallas and I was right by the exit door. The hostess told me I couldn't sit there because I was in the aisle and by the exit door which is a fire hazard!

My mom was pissed and said the exact same thing "if there is a fire... believe me she will be the first one out and wouldn't you want her by the EXIT???" It was very irritating and then when I told my brother in law what she had said (he's an attorney) he went and talked to the manager.

Needless to say... our entire meal was comped! :)

Soooo that's why I said in my post earlier "why am I always being called a fire hazard?" LOL

I totally agree with you Ed!!

Why is there a table by the door if it's a 'fire hazard'?
And what are they saying? They think you're too week and useless to escape yourself in the event of a fire, but don't want you in the way so they won't have to help you? If there is a fire, you're on your own, gimpy!
And ang, maybe you keep getting called a fire hazard cus you just so damn hot! ;)

Precisely my point, why put a table next to the EXIT door in the first place?? I guess they are saying I'm on my own in case of a fire. Also, she is the one that took me to the table in the first place, I guess she is blind and didn't see my wheelchair??? :) the funny thing is they took me from the aisle table and put me in another section where it was closed in WITH A FIREPLACE hahahaha... PRICELESS!

Awww well thank you for the compliment but I guess she didn't think I was so hot...
