Just watched Jules carrying the Olympic flame in her wheelchair. That made me feel very good.

I second that.

Good news, EC. I was also experimenting with a change in meds. It did not work, so after a month of torture I am back to feeling rather human, and only gimped in the evenings,

BLACK SHEEP'S A WITCH!

Yeah, but my broom is currently out of service, so I'm stuck with this chair thing. And it doesn't fly!

Well done BS. As a computer tech myself in a previous life I salute you.

Of course she is. What else would you call a para who stands to reach her cigars?

I actually threw them too high on the shelf now and I haven't been able to reach them for 4 months now. Totally a good thing! But yeah, I'm kinda worried they're going to rot up there or something smelly.

And thank you Plank! I salute you too. It's not that often we see too many working resurrections. Usually, if it's dead... yip.
3 doctors diagnosed me with hysterical paralysis (weee!), 1 diagnosed an incomplete T7, another T2 and the last (and most accurate) T5. Trampolines are BAD. Sleep is unpredictable. And never kiss strangers. Life has moved on.

Wait, so now I'm an Undead Ninja Overlord Gimp who can, on occasion, clean up good? Hmm, nifty. And that's pretty much the only tie I have left anymore. My bro got most of my other ones and I got that 1 for my moms wedding (That is to say, she got it for me so my bro and I would have matching ties and for some reason she wanted them to be purple. Actually, back in the day, my dad had to special order a 4XL racing suit, he's a big guy, and when it showed up it was purple. So the joke was he looked like Barney. So we kinda ran with it and got a stuffed Barney doll and tied it to the truck)

Purple is the coded color for undead ninjas and and queer gimps. And since you think women are evil....

Back in the day, only Royals were permitted to wear purple because it costed a fortune to produce.

and it was my snail relatives that made that color.

Actually, I thinks everyone is evil. I know damn well I's evil. And jus cus womens is evil doesn't mean I dun like them. Definitly not queer, unless u means 'queer' as in odd or strange or f****ded up. The last thing I had up my arse was a 6 foot long camera an thas gunna be's the last thing to ever be there . . . and yes, it was at at some sorta medical appointment . . . Aaah Rat, the illusion I had in my head of you is gone. You do scrub up well. ( coming from a heterosexual engaged man ) After reading hundreds of your posts and picturing an almost non-human enitity, you show us a bloody picture of you done up with a purple tie. However, you did redeam yourself by locking arms with your gorgeous cpa. :assassin:

My fella took my wheelchair apart; lubed/tightened & washed EVERYTHING so all the build-up of pet hair & dirt is gone, it's gliding through the house like it's almost brand-new!

That is just sick, GB. Hubby would say "way too much information."

On the other hand, I am really happy for you. May B & B become background in your life, not front and center.

For myself, my partner is finishing up a one week visit home and it has been lovely. Sometimes I am alone too much.

Wow hope you get over it quickly & without complications (I hear measles & chicken pox are worse the older we get....guess they were intended to be childhood ailments?) :doctor:

On a GOOD note: Yesturday we got my CoG (Center of Gravity) adjusted so it won't dump me out backwards so easily.
Which means.....not only did we go to the pool today which is FUN in & of itself......but I can finally CURB-HOP AGAIN! :yahoo: Which I did 3 out of the 4 curbs to be hoped.OK so maybe I'm "easily entertained" but in some ways I kinda missed the extra :emoticon-0165-muscle: of indipendence (my B/F wasn't stopping me from doing them just because....I've tipped in that chair on flat ground without doing any wheelies...literally twisting too far while stationary made me flip once...so he was PROTECTING me NOT "codeling".) :specool:

Handed in my notice at work on Friday.
I don't have a new job yet - I now just have three months to find one!!

Best of all is that the boss (while writing my job description for the replacement me) has finally realised how much work I do and so will be (drum roll)
Thanking me?
Giving me a going away bonus?
Giving me a little more respect?

Nope!

Contracting some of the work out! He realises that no one (read FULLY ABLE BODIED PERSON) would do even half of the sh*tty workshop assembly jobs I do! No one in the office currently will even touch them with a barge pole (which coincidently I was using last weekend - they're not as long as you'd think) hence my loosing several days holiday when I have to come back in to service emergency units as no one will dirty their hands to help out.

Thank you GB. I fear I will end up doing temp work for an agency but work is work so we can't complain. I've enough in my savings fund for a year off work if needed but would rather put that in my house fund. I've applied to several places, now we just need to find someone who thinks me interesting.
