I'm a T-6 complete and recently have had night sweats really bad. I can be awake one minute and fall asleep for maybe ten minutes and wake up soaking wet. Has anyone had this happen to them? I am 7 yrs post and this is the first time. I have no infections or sores but I do have a dislocated hip since my fist year post. Any suggestions would be great.

Happens to me about once every 2 weeks. I used to have it happen only when I had a UTI going on. I haven't had one now though in over 4 years, but still sweat a lot when i'm asleep. It can be 50 degree's in our house (we turn the heat off at night) and I'll wake up soaking wet. It's never my head or legs though, always my chest, arms and back that are just covered with perspiration. I don't worry about it to much though as i know nothing else is going on with me.

i don't know your gender. if you are female, could it be that you are having hot flashes caused by the dreaded menopause?
hi fellow gimps! i'm a c 6/7 quad and have been injured since 1986. i was in a roll over hydroplane accident and it took hours for the paramedics to get me out of the car in the pouring rain. that definately wasn't my day. but alas life goes on!

I'm not a menopausal female so hot flushes are out! But I have also experienced this.
As long as I can remember, I have periodically had episodes like this for no apparent reason, and long before I had my present spinal problem. I always put it down to a minor infection like a cold, but I also believe you can actually "think" yourself into a lather.
Don't ask me how, but I truly believe the state of mind can influence body temperature. I don't believe I'm alone in that. I seem to recall reading that one or two of the more exotic Oriental martial arts schools teach it as a survival technique.

I'm am about 9 years post injury and this has happened often and not because of infection, sores or illness. The seasons also don't seem to play a roll, as I get in winter as well as summer. It never happened prior to my injury and it's only my upper body that is affected. I normally have to find a towel, dry myself off and put on some dry clothes.
