I’ve got 2 bulging discs in my spine that are causing arm pain/numbness and am considering the Charite artificial disc. Please contact me if you have had this procedure or know of someone who has so I can get some real feedback on success, etc. -thx meyeview@yahoo.com

I knew a woman who went to Germany to have her ADR done...this was before it was available in the states, not sure if that's still the case now. (?) Anyway, the procedure was a complete success, and the last I heard, the outcome was better than hoped for.

I wish you well in your decision. :)

I know it was a long time ago that this message was originally posted, but there may be others wanting to know the same information.
I had the Charite disc implanted and I am in more pain now than ever before. The pain gets so bad that I can't help but scream in agony. I am 35 years old and don't see much of a future for myself any longer. This disc replacement was the worst decision of my entire life. And that carries a lot of weight because I've made a bunch of serious mistakes. I had my operation in June of 2005 and for the first 6 months or so I felt great, there was hope. After the first 6 months passed the pain started coming back and has gradually gotten worse and worse. I wasn't taking medications during the first half year, but now I'm looking for anything to give me some relief. :poo:
I could understand if I had been back to work or doing something that would've jeopardized the surgery, but I have been at home doing the work of a house wifehusband.
Please, be careful when looking to have the artificial disc installed into your body and do your research before you make a big mistake.

I would be more than happy to discuss this with anyone at any time and encourage emails...
