Can anyone help? I am a T5 paraplegic and encounter great stresses with many basic everyday tasks. I am doing an Access to HE assignment at college and would appreciate some feedback from some fellow wheelies.
Has anyone completed themselves, or is aware of, any research/questionnaires regarding spinal cord injury and stress levels?
I would be willing to follow up on leads you can give for the research myself.
I would be most appreciative of any assistance you can offer, and hope to hear from you soon.
Many thanks,
Sam

I'd give you the phone no. of my Psycho Dr to answer your request, but it would freak her out LOL.
My stress capacity has dropped like a bomb, but you have to recognise your own limits, and work within them.
Striving harder is great, but not if it's to the detriment of your health (mental and physical).

I would like to know what that is.
AS for stress generally, there is also the panic produced by the broken chord and all of those stations lower down the line phoning up central all the time without getting any answer. Understandably, they freak out and are continually breaking the glass and setting off the fire alarm.
This is metaphorical, but it is also someshat accurate.
So, keep your bladder volume down. Make sure you are rested. Eat regularly. etc.
As per bladder: Remember how URGENT it felt when you were a little kid and you just HAD to go? Well you body is going to provoke that same nervous panid response if your bladder is full now, only without the information that your bladder is the cause.
Enjoy.
Best regards,
Gordon
