What kind of questions are they asking? I could see maybe a signed statement from a doctor stating it is safe for you to fly, but even this seems discriminatory.

Hi Roy,
Just been to Mallorca, got back 19th March. I wasn't asked to supply any info at all. I was only asked my medical condition as to why I needed the ambi-lift and the isle chair.
Through experience though, I always get a note from my GP stating that I am fit and well to travel, along with confirmation of the meds that I will be taking with me, and that they need to remain with me as hand luggage ( although this time they filled a small carry on suitcase all to them selves!)lol
I worked as a travel agent for 22 years and ran a chain of 6 agencies. Although I have been out of the business for 9 years now, I to am at a loss why they want this. Try approaching Jet2.com again, may be by email asking for clarification as to why they require this sensative and personal info.
But at the end of the day, they are quite within their rights to refuse you boarding if you don't comply with their "Saftey"measures.

Do your homework. Find out what the airline regs are and whether they are entitled to ask you for this or whether they are legally out of line.
If they are entitled to do it, then vote with your feet and go by another airline next time.
If they are legally looking dodgy, then write to the head of complaints and c.c. it to the CE (always by name), and state your case, including reimbursement for your time on their expensive phone line and the doctors fees. Assure them that you will be taking this to whichever journos and public bodies you have found in advance who will help you. Be firm but be fair. they are a business and they have a right to put things right before anyone goes off at them.
Remember Ryan Air tried charging for Special Assistance (which does cost them) and the public pressure and media storm was so great they dropped it.
Be rationale and do something about it. It may help others later on.
