I am curious to hear from individuals who have used anabolic steroids to assist with their exercise programs.
I have approached my doctor about trying the anabolic steroid, Oxandrolone. I have a C-5 incomplete injury. I am on a good exercise and nutrition program. I am 6'2" and preinjury I weighed about 165 pounds. Currently I'm only about 145 pounds due to a lengthy hospital stay. I am mainly looking for weight gain and increase in muscle strength.
Just curious if anyone else has tried using anabolic steroids. If so, what were the results? I would like to hear both good and bad.
Thanks, Josh

I'm in week 3 of another cycle of Oxandrolone actually.
This is my 3rd cycle in the last year and a half.
It helps me, BUT......I'll caution you....
You really need to know what you're doing with them, and most doctors don't know and don't want to know anything about them.
I learned everything I know about them from gear-heads at the gym, or online.
First off.....
You have to stack it with testosterone for it to be effective. Test is the gas that drives the engine.
I'm getting weekly injections of testosterone cypionate, but I do it regularly anyway, b/c as I've found, most men with SCIs need supplementation.
You also need to take an estrogen inhibitor (Arimidex) or you'll be crying at chick flicks, b/c believe it or not, but it elevates estrogen levels at the same time it elevates testosterone.
It elevates your blood pressure, so you need to eliminate every gram of sodium you can, drink LOTS of water, and monitor your BP daily.
I take herbal supplements that help the liver and kidneys process the Oxandrolone....otherwise you feel hungover all day long.
I've found 12 weeks on/12 weeks off works the best, and you will lose a fair amount of strength gains when you cycle off.
In my last cycle, I could walk across a room w/o crutches after about a month (I teetered though), but within weeks of going off of them.....I lost that ability.
(It's starting to come back again now)
I do 10 mg. 2x/day.
Make sure your insurance provider will pay for it......it's about $1000/mo.
Hope that helps.
