With the help of our 6 year old Jazmine we were reminded yesterday just how far we've come in little over a year. We were in the kitchen and I was getting everything ready for our Passover Seder and she looked at me and said "Mama remember how sad we were last year, I didn't think you'd ever stop crying". With her saying that it was just such a reminder, we've all sunk back in to our new day to day life and tend not to think of how it was this time last year. It was a rough year but we made it, I have my Husband/Best Friend and the kids have their Daddy back, we're just so lucky.

I was in the Leeds General Infirmary. It would have been the third night, this time last year. To cut a long story short, my fiancee, family and friends were told I might not walk again. I am C3-4 incomplete. The day before I left hospital, I was offered viagra, and told I might not be able to have children. Since then I have been married, wife is now nineteen weeks pregnant and I have completed six 5km runs. This time last year, I couldn't feel a thing from my neck downwards.

Bloody brilliant good for you, one day at a time, one step and now your doing 5kms, look forward to and cherish the baby.

I have 3 kids, may last year i had my accident they were 8, 6 and 10 months old. I got out of hospital Feb 18th, little one moved on a huge amount in this time so watch and enjoy taking part in every day of their development.

Good Luck and to all in hospital who read this it's true its a marathon your on made up of small steps.
Impossible only describes a problem that needs viewed from a different perspective

you are so right. i remember my accident and your husbands was very close in time and we joined the same week. i rememb er how tough it was for him with everything and relating to him thinking man how am i gonna get through this week let alone the 30+ yrs. I have to say its gotten so much easier im driving im back to work and soon moving back to my house. I see your emails went from frustration and confusion like mine to more "we are dealing and getting through and the hardest times are in the past." you would never know you came so far until someone points it out then you realize that you have done so well.
I wish you guys the best of luck and when ever i get frustrated i always think and remember how far i have come since that first day home from the hospital. So glad that day is long gone.

good luck

Eric

Oh, yesterday I managed five Press Ups, so yes it is a marathon made up of small steps.

Hmmm about this time last year I was competing in a trade skills competition for Autobody Technicians. I placed 2nd making a simple mistake that cause me first and a free trip to PEI. Little did I know that I wouldn't have been able to make the trip anyways. So I guess I went a step back but that just leaves more steps to go forward from here on.
