Angie, As far as the banners, you gottem, it's your biz. I just thought of something more. If Jim can wrangle up a bunch a buddies w/ loons and get as many of us together at one time, with sashes on all representing sites such as The Reeve Foundation, we would have our own festival. Go Nationwide, cuz if comes together, think of all the awareness we could bring. That's it, I calling Reeve's in the morning. You've done it, I wanted to do a little thing for you, keepinging it small, and now I'm goin' NATIONWIDE BABY. So let's get it on. Mark

Just had my coffee, let me call Jim first and make sure he can wrangle balloon club members to volunteer 'loons and crews. If that's a go, it's on to REEVE'S, maybe a grant to host the event, then on to registration. Finally sponsors pay for sashes, it's damn near the cheapest form of advertising. Gotta go, callin' Jim. Just got off the tele with Jim, he directed me to a website of 'looners. Told to post and pitch to the members there, some with specialized baskets for the disabled. So, off to that site. I let him know that it went from Ang to ? And he said that he was still up to being a part of it, just need to find organizing the event elsewhere. Wish me luck, I'm goin' in. Mark

I might need more than one, a total event name, the name of the balloon( FLASH.....,is yours) and the sponsors name( www.heelswithwheels.com....., would be yours). Others might include SportAid, New Mobility, Colours, ....etc. Oh, the 'loon site is AUNTY MONKEY, I just registered and posted our plight. The time it takes to coordinate something of this magnitude is normally a year, according to Jim. I'm trying to streamline the process. Mark

I LIKEY as the total event name, then balloon identity, which contains balloon name and reason, then sponsor. The event name describes what's it all about and remains on the ground with Journey's music playing there and air, by passin' out Journey CD's from maybe say Wal-mart. I'm sure they'd help out. Let me post the "WHEELS in the SKY" motiff, on an agreement of the folks here. No sense in going big if noone shows, cuz you, your model freind and I already have seats for any event. Doesn't Ches also live in that area, and I've discounted Rollin' Trouble since sent a note to prior to all this, about his thread on skydivin'. I'm doin' both, you could consider it a type of BUCKET LIST. I just want all to know that I need to see the interest as there are only so many balloons. I'll get back as I make progress. Just a reminder, there's another thread of mine out that I don't want to die, MEN in MINIVANS. Later, Mark out

I kinda had a hunch after rollin'it thru my mind. I remember her volunteering for a role in your debut line. Most of her posts are off the wall, she,s way too funny. I'd love to include her, I'm a fan. Did you already ask her. Girls like you two make me wonder why I didn't get involved with chicks'n chairs when I was an AB. I love the grasp you girls have on life. You represent well. If you haven't told her yet, tell her now. Yater, Mark

I want to put this on my FB but trying to figure out how to say it exactly... it will be in Texas the third week of September, right? We need sponsors?? More people??

You got the week right, I have to hammer down the exact day, and usually they happen before sunrise. We need more people in all areas, owner/operators, ground crews, sponsors, I'm thinkin' IN'n OUT catering with others. I got a note into Simon to help nail down actual disabled flyers. That way there's enough 'loons, and if we all can't go at once, make sure multiple flights are availble. Got another post into AM, pleadin' to their hearts and generousity. I wanna make it happen with steppin' on toes or leaving a necessity out, like Porty pottys or comfort stations, medical. Can you imagine Woodstock-size event ? I'm gonna sign off now, as I've been at this for 6hrs today, time for dinner and let the replies come our way. Mark my armsa achin'

If there's not a real interest, I CAN tone it down. I don't want to come off as threatening, I am not, but I could focus on my other pursuits. Right now, there are 3 members and I flyin' in Sept. I will not contact REEVES for a flight list of 4. If you're truly interested on goin'up, contact me. If not, let this die and 4 of us are gonna have a real good time. Mark

We were going to try to get an event put together here in Texas third week of September... but we have to have more people involved before making it HUGE. People can advertise their business and so forth.

Mike have you contacted Turning Point Nation they are huge in the Dallas area and I'm sure they would be more than willing to help!

Ches... this is how the whole conversation started in a different thread (towards the end)

It started with R/T talking about skydiving, which is a scheduled to do on my CRIP TRIP. Since the Grand Canyon will be my last National Park on my last item before going home, I suggested to R/T, we meet up in Texas. I told him that I was adding a hot air balloon flight before I head home and asked if he wanted to go up. After Ang reading the thread, she expressed an interest in goin' up. I wanted to make her and her flight all about her and promote her fashion line. I talked to my buddy, Jim, owner/operator of 2 balloons, which made accomodations for 4 plus an operator for each. I figured we'd announce this to the local news, and that would give Angie's fashion line at least statewide advertising at a minimal cost of a sash. Thinking bigger, I thought that we could do that and more by gettin' more gimps and balloons in the air. In doin' so, it would be a national news piece and an increased awareness to the public, that there are more of us than they thought. But sadly enough, I hate to tell you, the AB ballooners haven't an expressed a juncture with us, as of yet. I need more than 4 COMMITTED folks to get the attention of society to do more for us. The more they know about us, the better chance for change for all, WORLDWIDE. But, I may be ONE man dreaming. That should bring you all up to date. Mark

Well first we need more people with disabilities... then we go for sponsors! Ches, I was going to contact Anne from turning point on Monday. I think they could totally help especially since it's going to be in Texas.
