Hey everybody...ive read through the thread and it sounds like a great idea...hope you dont mind if i throw my 2 cents in. Would yall be open to making this a fundraisin/charitable event? If so you could set it up likethe St.Baldricks Day event. ( www.stbaldricks.org ) Basically its a fundraising event to help kids with cancer. Every year groups/individuals nationwide get people to pledge money to them to shave their heads. So there is some competition nationwide to see who can get the most pledges. Then on a specific day nationwide, each group gets together and they have big events for the actual shaving of the heads. Sounds kinda silly but it works. many local news outlets cover the eevents and they raise a lot of money.

What im proposing is you use the same type of model. proposal: Wheels In The Sky incorporates SCI groups/associations/individuals and challenges them to seek pledges to sponsor putting 'wheels in the sky" (ballooning, skydiving, hanggliding, etc.) On a designated day all of the "chapters" organize Wheels In The Sky festivities with food, possibly vendors, music, etc and is highlighted by all of the SCI's or Ab's(you have collected pledges) skydiving or ballooning etc.

I think this could serve many purposes. 1) Ang (and other sci entrepeneurs) could get exposure for her company by getting free nationwide advertising via a website, banners, tee shirts or on anything else associated with the event. 2) Nationwide exposure for SCIs 3)opportunity to raise ALOT of money for SCI research, scoholarships, assistance, etc.

What do yall think?

My wheels just got turning, because i think yall are lacking the numbers you want. This idea allows people to participate in a HUGE event without having to travel a long distance.

Let me know if Im way off base of what yall are trying to accomplish, im just tossing around ideas.

Yes, Mike has joined WHEELS in the SKY. I take it you've be affiliated with the military, former MARINE myself. The way it looks, we will probably be a subdivision of the Plano event til we get big enough to host our own event. sage
