Hi all, I am writing this for my boyfriend who is a c5/c6 complete. He has been getting yeast infections on his scrotum and insides of his legs. We know how to treat it once they occur, but does anyone have advice on how to prevent them?

Thanks in advance
Life is good....

Try cotton boxers and light weight trousers as it's best to get air to the area. I also use canisten cream as a barrier, you do not need to use much applied to dry skin helps.
If I fall out of my wheelchair in the woods would anybody hear me?

I only get this on one side of the groin area for some reason, Canesten does the job.
I also sprinke some anti fungal foot powder there now and again, but I try to watch that the skin doesn't get too dry, it can tear easily around the joint area.

This sort of thing comes from the inbalance of bacteria in the gut and yeast feeds the "bad" bacteria and the "good" bacteria can't maintain the balance. So, first thing to do is stop eating bread and drinking beer as both have lots of yeast and eat natural yogurt. Or take Actimel or Activia (not sure if you have these in Canada) but you can get natural live supplements that help balance the bacteria in your guts - things like acidophulus (spelling?).

If you rub natural live yogurt on the affected skin and leave it there as long as possible, you'll see an improvement there also. But no point just treating the symptoms if you don't treat the root cause of the problem.

I use gold bond powder, and sometimes anti fungal. Generally making sure the area is cleaned and dry everyday helps a lot.

Tea tree oil is another natural product that prevents or clears up the bacteria. The scent is a little strong but it sure does the job.

we live in hot damp Florida so after my hisband Dan whose a c4/5 complete got his first yeast infection in jock area i saw his hair there was keeping the skin damp adn didnt let the medicine throgh either so I started shaving him in the mornig 2x a week. i use Gold bond powder every day after i wash him and he wears thin cotton pants that lets air in. i make sure that his knees are a part during the day. i shave his arm pits to and use Gold bond there to. I put his elbows on his wheelcahirs arm rests wide so that his armpits get air, So far no more probs.
