I just wanted to let my fellow Texans know about this coming Saturday just in case they want to get out for some sun and fun. RISE adventures is having their start of the summer bash and you'll all invited. I'll just copy/paste the email now.

"THIS SATURDAY, MAY 1, 2010, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

RISE Adventures First Annual “Kickin’ off the Summer Bash I” --- RAIN OR SHINE!

I would like to extend a final invitation to all physically challenged persons, family members, and their friends to attend this Saturday’s event. Hopefully we will be blessed with a beautiful day of weather but the event will take place regardless. RISE has prepared for whatever Mother Nature has in store for us. Adventure Scuba is providing wet suits making your in water experience more enjoyable.

Over the winter we purchased more equipment to expand our programs and dates. RISE now has fourteen hand cycles in a variety of shapes and sizes for your riding comfort. We added more rugby chairs. We recently purchased two new high powered three seat jet skis and an additional two that were donated. In Collaboration with Metroplex Adaptive Water Sports this allows you to jet and water ski every week throughout the summer. At the recommendation of Shake a Leg Miami, the largest and best disabled sailing program in the US, we purchased a Catalina-Freedom 21, sailboat. This allows us to expand our sailing dates to fit your schedule. Every Tuesday through Thursday, 5:00 pm until dark, throughout the summer, RISE will host water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, and sailing at Lake View Park on Lake Grapevine. The Lone Star Paralyzed Veterans of America donated their 20 passenger disability bus allowing us to pick up large groups of participants for travel to and from selected scheduled programs.

RISE made a decision to hold this event at the start of summer to showcase and get you involved in all of our programs and kick off the summer in style. RISE Program Managers will be at each activity taking reservations for future dates for all of these programs; Water Skiing, Jet Skis, Water Float Rides, Boat Rides, Sailing, Golf, Fishing, Camping, Hand Cycling, Air Rifles, Archery, Kayaking, Quad Rugby, Sled Hockey, Photography, Health and Fitness, Swimming, and Remote Control Airplanes.

This event is sponsored by the two RISE Corporate Sponsors, C & R Medical and Lift-Aids, Inc as well as our great friends at the Grapevine Parks and Recreation Department. See the new line up of Chevrolet’s presented by The Thompson Group @ Classic Chevrolet. Great deals will be made on the day of the event and proceeds will go to either RISE Adventures or Heroes on the Water. See Jason Foshea at the kayaking event for details or contact him directly at 817-410-1564 or Jason@classicfleet.com

As with all RISE Programs, the event is FREE so bring the entire family and experience what we have to offer, enjoy the ambiance, and have some hot dogs and burgers on RISE! See you this Saturday!

Additional Event Info (flyers, directions, etc)"

I ran across these guys in the Fall and that's who I started kayaking with a couple of weeks ago. Can't wait for it to warm up a little and start skiing/jetskiing with em every weekend. Doubtful that I'll be able to make the bash this Saturday though since that is our busiest day at the shop.

I'd come over from England but I'd be afraid of all those Texan girls; they'd think I was Hugh Grant.... :)

Well RISE has stuff going on every week, I've been kayaking with em for a couple weeks now, I think now that they had their start of summer thing they are going to start kayaking, jet skiing and water skiing in the evenings throughout the week, Tues-Thurs, they also have Rugby on Friday(para's welcome) but I haven't got to make it out to that yet. May 15th they are doing a Beginner Scuba class to help learn about it and get on the way to free scuba certification.

That's all I got right now. Here's a link to their calendarof events, to do any of em, you just have to be a RISE member(join free on their website) and then email then in advance that you plan on attending so they have an expected head count.

Yep, was just about to come add that on here. Bachman lake as usual, we just hired some one last week, but they haven't ran our shop by themselves yet, hoping they'll be able to this coming Saturday so I can come out.

no, when did you email her? I asked her about it and she said she'd never received one, was it @yahoo or @chefpattycakes? We've had issues with the @chefpattycakes before not giving us all of our emails, which is of course the one we use for business and pay for.

We are closed on Mon - Tues :emoticon-0165-muscle: Was the slowest days of business and we had to have some time off so finally closed down those two days.

I was afraid it was that address, it's been a pain and we've found out over the last couple of months that a lot haven't came through. Can you resend it and then let me know, here or on FB will be fine, I'll have her laptop most of the day today to see if it comes through.
