Because of the cancer and complications I have my first pressure sore that has me layed up for as we know who knows how long and Ive only been paralyzed a year and a half so this scares me. I know this is probably much more of a doctor/specialist question but didnt know if any of you would have already dealt with this. Thanks SO much!!

I also just had radiation for brain cancer so Im always hungry and yea youre right Im just gonna have to eat and eat which is no problem! I should have mentioned Im vegan so its easier to find healthy food that has fat rather just bad food so I have to get on it! Im not worried about my flat stomach just wondering if I eat and eat it will all go there and not the places I need it but every body is different..just wasnt sure if any advice or magic, haha. I just did see the wound care and basically told her not to tell me any details as I do my husband because Ill just worry myself sick but he's the one taking care of everything. Its nowhere near a flap though yet thank God. So thanks so much for the help!

Foods that may produce a lot of gas.
Foods high in soluble fiber: beans, oats
Carbonated drinks, like beer
Foods, high in fructose or sorbitol (especially in those with fructose malabsorption): honey, apples, pears, peaches, plums and prunes, dried fruits in general, ‘diet soda’ and other ‘low calorie’ foods sweetened by sorbitol.
Good luck with your weight gain.

Im pretty good with sugar, and try to be healthy, but I have never heard about the surgar levels elevating and Ill have to look into that. I should have mentioned Im vegan so no animal products which cuts off all that horrible junk food anyway. I have to remember more of the nuts, so thanks for reminding me, they are so good for you and I always forget about those little buggers. Im seeing a wound clinic too because unfortunatly it is beyond superficial, ugh. Thanks SO much for the advice!

Yea, there are alot of vegans who dont eat the way they really should for protein and nutrients in general. You can be perfectly healthy if you do it the right way though so I always think its unfortunate when vegans just start eating meat instead of doing it the right way but its not for everyone. Thanks for the heads up though!

I dont drink beer luckily and I avoid diet soda and only occasionally treat myself to a natural soda but skip Coke and all that horribleness. As for the fruit I know its high in sugar and I try to avoid much sugar just because its bad in general but I didnt know about the sugar or the sorbitol part but isnt it better with the nutrition of some of those fruits to eat them than to avoid them all together because of it?
Thanks so much!

I think these fruits are to be avoided, if you are fructose malabsorption intolerant. If you eat fruit regularly, with no side effects, go for gold.
