So I went to one of my besties wedding over the weekend. It was really nice, beautiful, she was gorgeous and it was great to see old friends. We all are very close, have known them since the sixth grade (some sense elementary/preschool).

Well at the reception they had a photo booth where you could take pictures for keepsakes. They printed out 2 copies, one for you and one for the bride and groom they had a book for you to sign and put the picture on it. I was watching everyone go in and out and I just knew there was no room for me and my chair to go do this. So I just put the idea away and had a great time.

As the night went on, this photo booth thing was driving me nuts, I wanted to at least try to get in!! My front wheels fit perfectly but my back wheels did not. So I was pretty disappointed. And I thought well hell, I'll just have them hold my foot up in the air... they will recognize my foot with the tattoos lol.

My friends were getting me ready to do this "foot shot" when one of the groomsmen (the groom is a firefighter) asks me "do you want me to pick you up and put you in the photo booth so you can take a picture with the girls??" Instantaneously in my head I was like, "NO" but then my friends kind of looked at me with a glimmer of hope that I would say yes. I thought about it for a couple of minutes and then I told him "sure why not you only live once!" My friends were so excited... I usually don't really get out of my chair for anything in public places.

So as I'm in the booth the bride is holding me on one side and my other friend on the other when all of a sudden, the bride let go of me, I started falling and she says "oops sorry ang, I forgot you can't hold yourself up" lol. It was so funny! Of course I was worried how the pictures were going to turn out with the falling over and stuff. When I got back in my chair and they showed me the pictures... it was awesome... I don't even look paralyzed at all!!

Here's a picture of what they wrote on the paper for the bride and groom

overall it was a great time and I'm glad I got to experience and overcome a fear at the same time!!! You only live once and don't let other people's perception of you stop you from conquering any goals even if they are small silly ones like getting in a photo booth :wink05:

Ang ~ Those pics are awesome . . . thanks for sharing the pics and story. You are always so upbeat.

For the record, you never look paralyzed to me in any pics I've seen. You just look like a hot chick sittin' down. :wink05: That is, if your wheelchair is visible in the pic.

Hey Hot stuff

Glad you had a ball, you look really well in the pic's.

I could learn a thing or two from you.

I have never entered a booth, never had an offer to be picked up(Usually I'm told"you fecking kidding me")

Regards

John

Sandy -- hahaha thank you. I don't mean to "hide" my chair in pics it just happens that way.

Eric -- don't whatever me!! I went to bed early last night!

Jenny -- I'm thinking about posting another funny picture... me and my friend had a bet over who would catch the bouquet (obviously I wasn't going to) but I told her if she caught it I would rollover her toes. We did a funny picture. If I can get it to work on here I will post it. It's really funny.

Dave -- perhaps you do have a foot fetish lol.

Sandy #2 -- I have a great support system :)

Norma -- very awesome!

hahahaha well fortunately I'm always around a group of guys (my friend's boyfriend/husband's) so when I say "I can't go because there are stairs or whatever reason" they will figure out a way for me to go. The only way they allow me not to do something is if I really really do not want to do something :)

Jerry -- yes falling over was pretty funny and interesting feeling... luckily I do have some muscle memory that didn't let me face plant into the ground ha.

I have my tattoos/foot pics on my FB... haven't posted them on here just yet.

Btw -- thank you!

Here's the pic of me rolling over my friends toes for catching the bouquet lol...

PS just realized you can kind of see my tats on my right foot :)

:lmao: Clara -- that is my TONGUE, I'm like Gene Simmons ha. (After looking at the picture again, there is some sort of door handle in the background too... but I really do have a long tongue, I can touch the tip of my nose with my tongue... okay maybe a little TMI ha.)

Sandy -- oh she dove for that thing lol.

Angela,

What a funny picture this is, too! And I love what you're wearing - what else could have been expected from a fashion lady ... (Great shoes, too.)
Nice to know you had fun and you have a great group of friends!

Thanks Jenny!!! I'm really surprised my shoes stayed on the entire night... usually when I have a spasm my feet will fall out of my shoes if there is no back.

Sorry I'm a girl I could talk about fashion all night long!!

Yes I'm very fortunate to have such a great group of friends before and post injury :lmao:

Just a little TMI, but glad you had fun. Saturday I'm going to my cousins wedding. This'll be my first post-gimp experience in a hotel room. My cousin's second wedding, cus his 1st wife went nuts (newfie, figures) and decided she needed to be a stripper.
