Sorry I've been MIA for awhile. Life has been super busy, although incredibly fun and wonderful (read: rainbows, puppies, and magical unicorns all rolled into one, well very sleep deprived puppies and unicorns). The twins are doing great. They are almost 5 months old (adjusted age) 7 months "real" age. James has mastered rolling over from tummy to back and back to tummy - it's going to be hard when they both starting really moving around. Liam is so much better at tummy time and is constantly laughing, smiling and giggling. Both are blowing raspberries like crazy and I'm always getting drooled on (ie. teething is coming soon - eek!) We're slowing introducing solids - rice cereal to start - and James likes the process but hasn't quite mastered the whole swallowing thing. He makes the cutest chewing motions when the cereal is in his mouth, but most of it just comes dribbling out. Liam isn't too thrilled with solids at all and makes the most contorted face when we feed him. I'm sure he's almost there. They both love their jumperoos and will even fall asleep in them. Speaking of sleeping, sleeping through the night is just a pipe dream. We have tried them in their cribs but they end up waking each other up, so it's still separate rooms (my mom is still sleeping on the couch with one of the babies at night, while we have the other baby with us on our bed). We are able to go out and about around town with them in their stroller (my mom usually comes along to push it - a giant tandem one).

At their recent pediatricians appointment both were big for their adjusted age. Liam is in the 95th percentile for height and weight and James is in the 75th percentile for height and weight.

Okay, on to the pics:

Beaut photos Karen. What bright bouncy boys - the parents are looking happy and healthy, too. Any mother who manages twins deserves a gold medal, you are one heck of a woman.

karen your babies are beautiful. liam is one big baby. wow! i wish you all the best. my sister has twin girls and they are a blast. are your twins identical? it's hard to tell in the photos. my guess is that they aren't but i'll wait on bated breath for your reply.

aren't both of you in a w-c? will your mother be staying with you for long? i used a velcro strap to hold my babies in my lap and i used a car seat stroller which worked very well you just put the baby who's alreay in his car seat right on the stand and away you go. i'm sure you have worked out a lot of this by now. the fun has just begun. just wait until they walk. you are in for it.

best wishes,

hi fellow gimps! i'm a c 6/7 quad and have been injured since 1986. i was in a roll over hydroplane accident and it took hours for the paramedics to get me out of the car in the pouring rain. that definately wasn't my day. but alas life goes on!

My guys are definitely not identical! James is blond, blue eyes and very fair. Liam is the exact opposite - dark brown hair (and lots of it), brown eyes and darker completion. They both have different shaped feet (James has big toes and feet and Liam has smaller toes and feet), different ears as well (James' ears stick out a bit and Liam's are flatter against his head). I'm sure all their life they are going to get: "You're brothers!!" and then the exclamation - "You're TWINS!!"

Both my hubby and I are in wheelchairs. I'm an L3/4 para and he's a C5/6ish quad. My mom actually lives right down the street from us, so she's always there to babysit and help out when we need her. But most of the day hubby & I are by ourselves with the guys. She only really comes and helps at night and if we're going to travel somewhere and need to take the ginormous stroller. When the guys get a bit older and can sit up more unassisted, we might try a strap thing for hubby to be able to hold a baby on his lap. I'm pretty good at pushing one handed and holding a baby, although I like to use the baby bjorn if I'm going for a longer distance, like a push around the neighborhood.

Totally freaking out about the walking stage and also the crawling stage. We're just going to have to baby gate our whole house! EEK!!! :muahaha:
