i'd call your doctor or the pharmacist on this question. your doctor may be able to prescribe medicine that your insuance will cover.

From what I remember, Xenadrine is an ECA stack/thermogenic. It is a not a healthy way to lose weight at all as you will just gain the weight when you stop taking it. It is often used by bodybuilders when they are trying to cut before a competition. It wreaks havoc with your metabolism and supresses hunger. Side-effects are often something like coffee jitters, palpatations and the sweats. I would avoid it pal.

Losing weight permanently has to be done by a change in lifestyle. Healthier food and exercise. With you being a T5 I would think that you can get your heart rate up in many many ways. What is your diet like? Cut down on starchy foods like potatoes, pasta, white bread and white rice with sweet potato (yams), wholewheat pasta, wholemeal bread and brown rice. Go for a wheel about, do some core work, get a punchbag or even get a handcycle if you can. Swap lattes for black coffee or even green teas. Water with fresh lemon juice is a great option too. Swap naughty snacks for a smoothie or a protein shake. And lots and lots of water.

Don't do it. Pre-injury, I did some amateur body building...sounds pretty damn funny these days, but I did! Anyway, I took all kinds of "supplements" including andro, nor-andro, ephedrine, etc. They were all legal at the time, and I remember taking xenadrine for a while as well. Point is, as ass-backwards as the FDA is, there's a reason they don't touch these things with a 10-foot pole. Some will say they are harmless and beneficial, but the reality is you never know how they will affect you. I am a cardiac nurse, and did work at the bedside when all of the people who took phen phen (a weight loss supplement) in the 80s and 90s started to need lung transplants because of the long term effects of the supplement. It also caused severe birth defects and fertility issues...but at the time it was "safe". I would give serious caution to anyone who wants to take these supplements, especially someone who has other significant health issues such as SCI. Good luck and be careful.
