Has anyone found the same problem as us - it seems you can have a family room or a disabled access room but not one that takes a family. After much discussion with hotel we stayed at this weekend we were allowed in disabled room and kids had to share a sofa bed (not a problem you might think but you try and get my two to sleep in the same bed very stressfull.) and also my 8 yr old doesn't really want to sleep with her brother.

any ideas

I noticed the same problem when I had a young family. One might have thought this would have improved with time but it seems not. Often one cannot even get a twin room but only a double, hance a carer would need an extra room.

It is probably time that someone lobbied hotel chains about this as it is something that must affect many people.

We get the same thing here.

We stayed in a travel Lodge that had a double bed and one single (all in the same room) not good for a couple with two young teens! We ended up taking the room next door for the girls - they loved it! (and I spent much of the time trotting between the two rooms!) :) Yeah.... something should be done about it.

So, if I can ask what exactly would you want with regard to family rooms? The reason I ask is because we are just setting up some accomodation in a village in France (see my post in travel) should be up and running next year. We want to do it right.

room with usual disabled facilities, but seperate beds for kids - they don't go to sleep when they have to share - plus my 8 year old girl doesn't like sleeping with her brother
