Hey Guys,

Im having trouble thinking up idea's for fundraising for charity, I want to do something a bit different other than doing a straight forward hand cycle/run! This however would be the easiest option as I would manage to do it solo with out involving lots of people, buts trying to find a decent and quite-ish road around here to do it safely.

My friend has a kayak she is willing to lend me along with the gear, I have only done it once and it was supervised on a lake, the idea was to include Lochness as its in my what you can call local area! Only thing being a fear of fish (Never mind Lochness Monsters). I did drive around the loch for a cycle route but its a bit of a dangerous road and the route had some serious inclines and declines!

Im keen for a challenge and obviously within reason!

So I guess Im asking if any one has had any success with fundraising? and what kinda ideas are out there, I have looked online but I havent had much success bar waxing, head shaving, bootsales!
Everything will be alright in the end, if it's not alright then it's not the end!

Ah thank you Leah! You'd have thought that would have been the first place I looked, oops!

When are you doing your sky dive? Good luck with it!

Fund raising ey.
Hmmmmm.....
Well here's what I do, though I wouldn't suggest it if you don't have a REALLY GOOD lawyer.

I get out my hardware, .45 caliber (always a .45. Stopping power over firepower every time. "Bob Lee Swagger USMC ret.")
and roll on down to the nearest liquor store.

Always being polite but firm, assertive not aggressive and don't forget "please" and "thank you." People tend to like courtesy and will remember you with fondness next time you have a need for quick cash on the run.

Do not shoot anyone unnecessarily, it seems to anger most folks for some reason. If you have a manual chair it makes things a bit harder. Holding the gun, pushing the buggy at the same time. What I do is put the gun in my mouth, barrel of course pointed toward the sales clerk (the guy behind the cash register) with a piece of string attached to the trigger and trailing down to and wrapped around my leg at the knee. Kinda hard to make your demands this way but with the judicious use of hand signals and international semiphore you can get the job done with little or no muss 'n fuss.

hope this helps,

Have you thought about holding some type of event or ball? The charge for entry could include dinner (posh-ish nosh) and dancing, as part of the event you could hold a raffle with the prizes donated from local businesses in return for some free advertising. Sure, it's a lot of work but if done well can reap huge results.
