Hi Lucky

I seem to remember reading your story somewhere on the web and wonder if you can direct me to it? For no other reason than it may be inspirational in helping my nephew. Although he is completely severely disabled, it may help to know what you have come through.

How are you now? I ask because one of my good mates in USA is having therapy just now and is able to walk with crutches, although he is hoping to ditch these soon and use 2 sticks. Is it possible to be incompletely C5/6 and walk UNAIDED? I ask this question because he has asked me. Naturally, his therapists will not comment.

I remember reading you were a steel erector. Obviously, with such serious injuries, you cannot do that. Do you work Lucky? I reckon I got the best deal. I was training to be a surgeon, so diversified and became an anaesthetist a job I can do sitting down.

Hope your well and say hi to you're nephew. As to walking un-aided without crutches, I can walk around the house and if I really concentrate, walk anywhere without my elbow crutches. However, I think its a little dangerous and my ballance isn't too clever either.
I use crutches rather than sticks because my wrists aren't too strong but this may not be the case for your friend who you say is C5-C6, Im C-5 (fused to C-4).....I think

i have incomplete c5 injury and i can walk unaided round the house - am a bit wobbly etc. i use elbow crutches when i am out - its safer. If i need to do lots of walking i tend to use my chair.
