Hey
I am looking to get a fes bike type of machine which electrically stimulates making the legs work.
I have heard doctors say they would be good for a number of things.
I am hoping getting one will put muscales back on my bum, so to put more cushsion and make it less bonie, as well as help keep the weigh down, and help me drop a few more lb.
has anyone used these or know anything about them????

Well I dont know where you are from but the girlfriend has an ergys2 and used it at home after her accident until she was having muscle spasms to bad and would shut the machine off. She now has a baclofen pump, and is in the process of getting a prescription filled again so she can use it. I dont know where you are located but the company that sells them is in Ohio.

i had one and used it for the first 7 years i was injured. i stopped riding after i got pregnant. my dr said electric stem could hurt the baby. i had one child after the next and never had the time for myself to get back to riding. i eventually sold it because i needed the room for a nursery. it was good exercise and kept my legs tone and helped spasticity. it takes a good hour or so to use it and takes up a lot of room. you also have to wash the stem ware after each use. it's also hard on your skin. i used to have to stay off my skin for a while until it got back to normal.

hi fellow gimps! i'm a c 6/7 quad and have been injured since 1986. i was in a roll over hydroplane accident and it took hours for the paramedics to get me out of the car in the pouring rain. that definately wasn't my day. but alas life goes on!

how often should you use fes bike ? I was told 1 hour per day but dont you need muscles to rest and repair? ..also does it damage nerves to muscles longterm? If anyone can point me to any research done on this will be really helpful.

Question: Could someone with full sensation use electrical stim to build muscle? I have had such conflicting information on this and there seems to be no better resource to ask that those who have actually used them.
If you don't try, you fail.
