You could always get a few shots taken for a portfolio, and then send them off to some casting agencies.

That way you could get a feel for the business and get to know the "ropes".

There are oportunities for disabled people in the modeling and film industry, you just need the luck and the look!

Simon.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing the other day!
I found a couple of people who put out adds online for
disabled models. The adds were old but I'm going to keep
looking.

It's because the image was 300dpi, but I've changed it now to 72dpi and 600 px width.

I am registered with Visable models, I have done a few modelling jobs for them. The lady that runs the company is called Louise Dyson, she is really good. The jobs I have done have been quite well paid.

Hope this helps

Yes I would not mind doing it on the side for some extra cash. In the past some people have said that I should, but I've never really pursued it. But if there were a company in Ontario Canada, then it would be worth looking into, as long as there looking for somebody in their late 40's year old

I realize most of you are in UK but here in the US a local department store/food store chain is trying to include at least one w/c model in their weekly apparel advertisments. They are not hired from any one particular modeling agency. I think the demand or interest for w/c models is becomming stronger however so we may see it a lot more. There are a few clothing companies who specialize in wheelchair friendly apparel so if you're really interested they would definately be a good resource.

I see why your online name is Lucky. That baby is a doll and that apple didn't fall too far from the tree. You are very handsome! I love your blue eyes. If a modeling agency could get a look at you - they would be crazy not to hire you.

Ahh, you're so kind. I'll tell Hope (baby's name) when she's a little older what some lovely woman said about her (us).
Thank-you very much.

See the resemblance in Hope to you. Is she a niece or your daughter?

I did modelling before my accident, only for fun. Anyway I had my accident in 1997 when I was 15 and then a few years after that, my mum wrote into a magazine to tell my story. She mentioned I did modelling and sent in a few photos of me.
The magazine replied and wanted to do a fashion spread in the magazine, which we did. It was three of four pages and an article on my story. My friends joined in too for a few professional shots. The mag paid for everything, clothes, food, the hotel. It was great.
Anyway my point is maybe you could write to a magazine and have the same, you never know who will be reading. You might just get noticed. :nopity:
GOOD LUCK.
