4.5 weeks ago while taking some left over chicken wings out of the toaster oven and the corner of the pan fell on my stomach. All of the juices ran out. Cannot find a wound care specialist that will take Medicaid (tried 6 or 7. A surgeon said it's by far the deepest burn wound he has ever seen.(Close to 2 cm.) The outer edges of the wound healed fine but he center is DEEP with black in the center. It has ben debreed muliple times, but the "eschar" comes back.
Now I'm having spells where I am freezing and shaking uncontrolably, and running a 102 temp (normal temp around 96.8ish) Is this a sign of infection or a SCI response?

I would recommend trying some Microcyn. I believe the website is www.oculisis.com. It is pretty expensive but the results are outstanding. You can get a commercial brand by getting Vetericyn VF. It can be purchased through veterinary supplies but is identical to Microcyn (says the manufacturer).

Good luck and heal fast.

Any fever over 101 is not good..Burns are the worst,,they take forever to heal and get infected real easy..If you keep running fevers go see your primary or ER..Dont let it get infected what ever you do!!!...Good luck

It could be infection. The freezing is a normal thing when you have burns. The skin helps regulate body temp, we were just talking about someone today who burned his legs and he was getting cold from it.
