AT LAST! Someone has decided that good news should come our way. You may remember that I posted about my US army pal who suffered an incomplete C5/6 injury in a jeep crash in Iraq.

Well, at present he is in rehab in USA and last night told me that he is now walking on crutches with full use of his legs. He has about 80-85% use of his arms/hands and is trying to regain use of B/B.

So, at last some good news. His injury was apparently caused by bruising to the cord. His accident was in Nov. 2004 and immediately after his neck op and recover from other injuries, he felt tingling/movement in his legs.

His recovery has started from the legs up. Until now, at the present day, he has no feeling from the nipples up.

So, that is not bad. His latest goal is to walk with sticks aiming to be unaided in the next 12 months.
ALWAYS REMEMBER - The darkest hour is only 60 minutes long and what won't kill you will make you stronger.

cauda equina lesion resulting in lack of ability to walk. Spinal cord undamaged and intact. NOW ABLE TO HOBBLE AROUND ON 2 STICKS AFTER LOADS OF PHYSIO.

Hi Gary,

I am delighted for you to have some good news at last. What marvellous news for your friend. Amazing things do happen even after time. Well done to him he has been very positive in himself, Rehab certainly is making its mark on him.

Any news on the home front?

Thinking of you.

Lynne
