Or, bladder spasm medication. I would recommend talking to your primary doctor to see what's out there, but he may only need a very low dose and only taken at night.

Has he been tested for bladder pressure? If not, he may have high pressure causing the leaking. Ask your doctor about Detrol or Detrol LA which will lower the pressure. There are several other drugs to do the same thing but I am familiar with this one.
Good luck.

Just thought I'd give some input from my side and what I've done to enable me a good night's sleep.
Firstly tho--does he use a catherter at all? If so or even if he doesn't it's not a problem to use a foley (sialastic) catherter just for nights. The easiest way for me to do this is add a pic of what I've done using a 5l bottle, a pipe cut off from one of the bags and a couple of the plugs/tapered ends from the pipes. The end of the pipe gets inserted into the foley and voila!--away you go ;)
I drilled a hole in the bottle cap just big enough for the recess in the top of the plug to clip into without coming out. Perhaps you can get someone who knows a bit of DIY to make it up for you.
Anyway--if it will work for you--good luck!
Just want to add that the pipe from a standard urinal bag is long enough for me to even turn onto my side. I stand the bottle next to my bed inside a square plastic icecream container just in case it happens to overflow during the night.

If his kidneys are fine then talk to your doc about medication for an overactive bladder. I was put on Detrol and let me tell you I am a different person. I pee normal like I use to and it's a God send. It's not for everyone but definitely something to explore.
Good luck

I started noticing this problem last year that beside not being able to sleep because of the constant pain and muscle spasms that I had an increase in urination. I didnt think anything aboutit for awhile until I noticed I also had developed an increase in thirst.Has he been checked for diabetes type 2 recently? This could be a reason for the increase in urination?
