Hi there,

I'm new to this site and have been looking around cannot find an answer to my dilemma. I am a T4-T12 para - 20 years old, and i do a Dulcolax suppository every other day - been 3 and a half years. When i do my suppository i typically spend about 1-2 hours and i use dig stim after about 15-30 minutes into the suppository.

My problem is that i am having accidents during the 48 hours til the next suppository. Pretty recent for this - over the last 3 months - but for the first 3 years or so I could depend on the every other day routine to not have any mishaps in between times. I still go out and do things but it is getting to the point where I feel like I can't go anywhere because of the chance of having an accident and having to turn around and go home.

Has anyone been through this and have solution or suggestion?

Banana,

If you have accidents you don't need suppository. My recommendation is to try digital stimulation only. Here you will find many posts how to stimulate - 2-3 minutes stim followed by 10-15 min wait. Also make a search for 'enemeez' - an alternative to suppository.
Keep in touch and don't hesitate to ask further questions.

Adding to what Rudy said, you may want to cut your suppository in half if digital stimulation doesn't work.

Good luck.

Why is it that i do not need to do a suppository?
Also, why would cutting my suppository in half do? What exactly do you mean by cutting it if half?

My husband also cuts his in half. Meaning only use the top half of the suppository. It has helped.

hi, what country are you in?
the reason i ask is that medications are different in other countries, ie, enemeez is not called enemeez in the uk.
i have some suggestions for you if you let me know where you are.#

Banana,

Suppository is over irritating you bowel so you have accidents. I've had accidents ONLY after suppository, so I've used it only a couple of times in 35 years. If you read the user info supplied with suppository you will understands that it IS NOT recommended for long term use. I know that for all of us it is hard to change our habits, but if your accidents don't stop, obviously something must be changed.
Do you take other medications or food that may cause accidents?

Change something !
