Everytime you have experienced AD, do you get the same symptoms? My fiancee has only had AD one time and I recognized the symptoms right away and we fixed the situation (too full bladder). Right now, as I'm typing this, he is shivering uncontrollably. We thought he was just cold but after lying in bed under the covers for a while, he was STILL shivering so I went to the trusty computer and realized that shivering is a symptom of AD. The 1st time he had AD, his skin above his level of injury was flushed (which we thought was weird at first) and then when I saw him heading for the medicine cabinet about to pop a tylonol for his headache that appeared suddenly, it clicked that he was probably experiencing AD! Anyway, right now he's on the shitter trying to see if he has a full bowel and if that could be the cause of the shivering. He also has an ingrown toenail he needs to go to the doctor about this week (they tried an antibiotic to get rid of it but that didnt help so the doc said they'll prob have to do surgery). I'm a natural worrywart but I think his SCI is going to have me gray well before my time (we're only in our early 20s!). Im soo scared for him always and the thought of AD has me almost shitting my pants on a regular basis ha.

when i have to pee bad i get the shivers everytime......or i've sat too long without pressure relief i break in a cold sweat, i'm sure its different in some way with everyone.but i'd say if something was out of the norm, then AD is going on in someway.......just my thought

Thanks for the speedy response! He is no longer shivering so I am thinking he must have had to poop or just had a lot of gas.

I get a chill up my neck when my bladder's full too. But that same sensation kicks in when I pass gas, AND when I feel that I'm going to have an unexpected bowel movement. So, the chills up my neck are also a godsend. I've saved MANY a bowel movement because of this.
