Whats up with this heat!? I went to do some shopping yesterday, but something happened. I got really hot, then sick and light headed. I go out all the time, yesterday was hell. Im usually good at keeping myself cool... what went wrong?

you got overheated. you know we quads can't control our body temp. try getting a wet hand towel and wrapping it around your neck when you go out. it will help to keep you cool. also try to drink lots of fluids. try to stay in the ac as much as you can. also try carrying a spray bottle with ice water in it and spray your face and body often.

i try to stay out of the heat and do my outdoor stuff in the early am or after the sun sets.

good luck beating the heat.

hi fellow gimps! i'm a c 6/7 quad and have been injured since 1986. i was in a roll over hydroplane accident and it took hours for the paramedics to get me out of the car in the pouring rain. that definately wasn't my day. but alas life goes on!

Hi, I have MS and have the same temp control issues. There are tons of cooling things you can use/wear. I have a cooling vest and a neckercheif that I wear as well. DH wears a cooling vest and a hat to match it that helps him keep his cool when he is working on a hot roof for hours.

hope that helps.,

HI, so sorry to have the delay in getting back to you. I have been vascilating between pity party and gung ho rehab efforts.

At any rate, you can go to amazon.com and they have many different styles to choose from. I like the one that you soak in water to activate. It sounds weird like you'd be wet wearing it, but some how you are not. One of life's mysteries I guess. LOL

Again, sorry about the delay!!
