On another thread someone asked me about my nephew. Well, things go from bad to worse and evern worse. Since the accident in January he has had 3 lifesaving operations. The last one was a few weeks ago and was to relieve build up of pressure on his brain. HOwever, we are unsure as to how - or if - he will recover. At the moment he is in a controlled coma.
So, if he recovers, as well as being totally paralysed, unable to do a mortal thing, there is the chance he will also be brain damaged. So, forgive us if we do not post on his condition because at the present time there is NO REHAB being done until this present situation is sorted.
I find it all very sad especially as he is so close to me. We have a strong bond as he was born just after my accident and was always the one who was first on the scene to assist me.
Still, there are worse things happening (so they tell me) in the world.
It just makes it all the harder to bear and unfortnately the doctors are helpless. There just is no prognosis to give.
So, forgive the lack of updates but there is no news that we can give. The eventual outcome - we suspect - will be 24 hour nursing care. However, to me, I would rather see him not recover than live a life paralysed and brain damaged. That is just my medical opinion now.
