Hi Mike,
I'm in NorCal and play many sports. I am currently playing basketball, sled hockey, go mono-skiing and go handcycling. I heard sled hockey is just starting up at the Ontario Ice Center which isn't too far from Riverside, you can contact iesledhockey@aol.com or call 909-863-1000 for more sled hockey info. There's also surfing with Life Rolls ON and they have an upcoming event on September 11 http://www.liferolls...LKTNJE&b=79281.
What basketball team are you working out with?

What division are the Rolling Bears in? Sled hockey is a blast. I used to play ice hockey and roller hockey when I was younger and it's great playing hockey again. For handcycles, you should check out bike-on.com, keep an eye out on the classified section. There's a Top End Force R in there for a great deal, but it's still out of my budget, haha. I'd like to buy a handcycle but I have other priorities right now.
For skiing here's the link to the nearest adaptive ski school to you. http://www.disableds...g/programs.html The ski season is coming around quick and if you really want to go, you should plan it out.

I am teaching my dog to pull me in my wheelchair. I have only been teaching her two months now. We go out every day and she pulls me two or three miles. I plan on working up to about four to five miles. It may sound like the dog does all the work (and that is the goal), but in the training mode, it is a very active sport.

Then at Big Bear there is USARC. They have a summer and winter program. Not sure of there rates even though I did some volunteering there last winter. But there a great group also. usarc.com
Then there is Disabled Sports USA. I belong to the LA chapter the UNRECABLES.There is an orange co chapter also. They can help you get into anything you want. In the winter we go to Mammoth once a month for skiing and Mammoth comps or lift tickets! Hope this helps and feel free to contact me with any questions.
