Since I stared having "difficulty" I have used a (as my son calls it) grab-nabber. I have had a few types.
Each has their positive and negative attributes. Some grip, have a magnet, can grab small objects, have non-slip surfaces, are long, light... none have all the best.

THIS type is my favourite. I tried on like yours but it didn't have as much grip. I've got one of these on order because I think the extra length would be useful.

I had one like that, it was imminent domained by my son. Has a magnet on the end. I like that the one now has a rotating head.

I have a number of them in various lengths. My favorite is the one greybeard has. It grabs and I like the magnetic end or is it my son who likes it more then me. Any kid who comes to the house will play with the grabbers.

I call it my extender and it caught on until one day I saw that darn commercial for the extends hmmmm with my son sitting there. Well he's 12 and I looked at him because I could tell he didn't know what the commercial was trying to sell but commented on the fact that they named there product the same thing I name my grabber. So what; I'm using a male enhancement name for my thing or ere my extender! Whose is longer, which one stays harder longer. I know it's late; I'm going to bed and no not with my extends.

Hmmmm now that I think about it maybe he did know what the commercial was about and was trying to push my buttons to see how embarrassed I'ld get.
